70 Years of Landrover

International Land Rover Day 2018 will be marked on the 30th of April 2018.

Bundu Rovers Club joins the rest of the Global Land Rover fraternity in celebrating 70 years of the most iconic 4x4 vehicle on the planet, Land Rover. We invite you to join us as we launch our 70 days of Land Rover Campaign which kicks off with a fun drive, camping and bonfire on Saturday 28th April! The gathering and convoy drive is open to all types of Land Rover - Defender, Discovery, Range Rover, Freelander and Evoque and Velar.

Since 2009 Bundu Rovers Club has been the premier Land Rover Owners and Off Roaders Club in Kenya and beyond.  With the marking of 70 years of Land Rover on the 30th of April 2018 we take  time to reflect on where Bundu Rovers Club came from and where we are going, against the backdrop of an ever rapidly changing environment.  Our lives and experiences as a club have been shaped by encounters on Offroad trails which are now threatened by climate change, deforestation and neglect of the environment.  As a club that believes firmly in environmental management for the posterity of future generations of Offroaders we shall be launching the 70 days of Land Rover Campaign starting the 30th of April with a chronicle of a selection of 70 Land Rover Owners sharing their memories, adventures and thoughts for Land Rover in this dynamic and changing world.

We start our journey with a scenic convoy drive from Nairobi to Naivasha on Saturday 28th April culminating in a bonfire and camping. To be a part of this experience all you need to do is register on this link (http://eepurl.com/dshy2j) by Wednesday 25th April.
Our convoy drive kicks off at 0730hrs from Shell Gitaru Petrol Station (just before Sigona Golf Club) and takes us via a scenic route down into Naivasha for overnight camping.  On Sunday 29th April we have the official launch of our 70 days of Land Rover Campaign and thereafter adjourn to play tag along catch up with rally raid action in Naivasha.

Route notes will be shared at gathering point.   For those joining from other towns/points and for non-land rover 4x4 owners not wanting to be left out we have not forgotten you and in true Land Rover spirit you are most welcome to join us. kindly call Club Secretary Kairu 0721954720.

International Land Rover Day - Kenya

INTERNATIONAL LAND ROVER DAY - 2 AUGUST 2015

#CelebrateDefenderKenya

In December of this year production of the Defender comes to an end after 67 years of Series 1's, 2's, 3's, Ninety's, One Tens and Defenders. Today's Land Rovers wouldn't exist without this lineage and it's time to celebrate these unsung heroes.  On the 2nd of August the aim is to get as many Land Rovers on the road all over the world as a mark of respect to the Defender and its forebears.

What will Land Rover owners, users and supporters in Kenya be doing?  Bundu Rovers Club has organized a drive and koroga party and we are calling on all LR owners and enthusiasts to bring out their Land Rovers to a convoy drive starting in Nairobi from 8.30am at selected Shell Fuel stations in Karen (round about), Lavington (St Austin), Westlands (opposite The Mall), CBD (Vic Preston) and Mombasa road (South B) and a fun gathering at Swara Plains (Acacia Ranch) in Athi River where we will have a fun off-road course, koroga/bbq, game drive or fishing and lots more happening.

How can you participate? Join us, tell your story, show us your machine and share with us as we celebrate this iconic brand. Come see others and network, share tips and tricks on maintenance, power, off-roading and more.  Let's join the rest of the LR fraternity around the globe celebrating the vehicle that led to every Land Rover on the road today.  Sign up today via the link http://eepurl.com/brsac1 to get a special rate on entry fees – Kshs 1,500 per vehicle.  On the day the charges are Kshs 2,000 per vehicle.  Can other 4x4s join the fun?  Whilst Land Rover Owners and users are our VIPs we are not locking out other 4x4s from enjoying the free spirit of Land Rover so come along and let’s have some fun!

Let's do this, let's celebrate all around the world 67 years of Land Rover!
